Understand Getting Approvals For Actions

Involving Primary Identities

In today’s world, our primary identity is issued by our country and is unique amongst all citizens. We should be able to directly approve actions linked to it.

Obtaining an approval for an activity's action's continuance because our primary government id is assigned/associated as an approver has two major aspects: asking a request and waiting for response. The later depends on us personally, as the respondent, having created a Sentry account with our primary identity and the Sentry application having been installed on one of our devices.

With those requirements completed, requesting is fairly simple. The most difficult aspect of doing so is determining when and where to ask for the approval, followed by creating the question to be asked regarding the use of the primary government id. Clarity is important with an expectation of solely a “Yes” or “No” response.

When seeking an action approval involving a "Primary Identity" online here, there are three fields that need to be completed on the form: 1) Requester 2) Primary Identity 3) Identity Use. The Requester is either our name or the organization being represented. The Primary Identity is the government identity of the individual to be asked for approval of its use for the Identity Use being specified. The government identity should be the country's abbreviation followed by the identity in the same form as officially used, i.e., in the U.S. a SSN being formatted like ”123-45-6789”, resulting in ”US123-45-6789”.

Complete the form and select ”Send Approval Request”. Each approval request, when sent for immediate response, is given 3 minutes to be responded to. If not responded to within that time limit, the default response will be recorded as ”No”. It will be present here as "Response not received within allocated time period".

Once the response is received, the reaction should be activity continuance, discontinuance or approval request retry.
